Spicy Honey Candied Walnuts Recipe
Feel free to play around with different seasonings for this one, or even omit all of them if you like. This recipe is as forgiving as it is easy.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups walnuts
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup butter, cut into pats
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt or to taste
DIRECTIONS
Heat oven to 350 F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Add walnuts to the sheet in a single layer.
Drizzle honey evenly over the nuts. Put pats of of butter on top top of the honey. Sprinkle with spices.
Bake for 6 minutes. Remove from oven, stir, and bake for 5 more minutes.
Remove from oven, stir again and spread nuts out in a single layer.
Let cool for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
