Instant Pot Black Beans
Too good not to make yourself
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 5 oz dried black beans, soaked overnight
- 1 1/8 cups water
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon pepper, fresh ground
- 1/2 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Juice from lime wedge (or 1/2 packet of true lime)
DIRECTIONS
Weigh out your beans and soak them overnight. An empty spaghetti sauce jar works great for this. Drain and rinse in the morning.
Add the ingredients except salt and lime juice to instant pot.
Seal lid and cook 14min high pressure, and allow natural pressure release.
Stir in lime juice before serving
